In true CL style, it has the perfect combination of humour, romance, drama and sexytime. London’s decision at the end seemed a bit sudden and I didn’t quite expect it. The ending (no spoilers) came as a bit of surprise to me. Harlow emphasized this with her girl drama, but that’s who Harlow is and I appreciate that CL could use her to elevate the storyline. The “drama” of the book is also quite young, with themes of sisterhood, girl code and friendship. There’s an innocence about him that I both appreciate and absolutely hate because of how realistic he is to the man-boys in my own life. Luke is younger than Ansel, Finn, and Oliver, and he reads that way. Maybe I feel this way because both Luke and London are younger and in much different life circumstances when we first meet them. Speaking of, this book I think, is a little younger in general, than the rest of the books in the series. I’m still not entirely sure why Luke gave up on Mia, but I guess it’s nice (and realistic) that they’re both able to move on from their childhood romance. But there truly is a different side to every story. The way he was described in previous books made me dislike him. It was hard for me to stop seeing him as Mia’s ex-boyfriend. Luke on the other hand, I wasn’t sure about.

She’s vulnerable and relatable and really easy to like. Even when the girls go out of their way to bring her into their circle, she still knows her place. She’s a bit introverted and sees herself as an outsider looking in.

Of all the girls in Wild Season, I resonate with London the most. For a storyline that seems a little overdone, they played with it and gave it new life. It’s hard for me to be unbiased here, since I have an affinity for Christina Lauren books. He wants her and she wants him, kind of…sort of…sometimes. Luke is a player and London is a girl with a guarded heart. Luke Sutter is the ex-boyfriend of London’s roommate’s best friend. Enters boy from stage left, or at least left field, because London never saw him coming. Wicked Sexy Liar follows London Hughes, a recent college graduate who surfs all day and bartends all night, while she tries to get her life in order.
